Please join us for a presentation about Be SMART, a conversation about the importance of responsible gun storage to prevent children from accessing guns.  The COVID-19 crisis has created new challenges for parents because children are spending more time at home.  Securing all guns in the home can save your child’s life.  “Be SMART” encourages adults to take these simple steps to help prevent shootings by children:  Secure all guns in your home and vehicles;  Model responsible behavior around guns;  Ask about the presence of unsecured guns in other homes;  Recognize the role of guns in suicide;  Tell your peers to be SMART.   Join us on Wednesday, January 13th at 7pm and learn how you can Be SMART.

Presenters:

Lorraine Lombardi, NJ Be SMART Lead, former teacher

Lisa Blumenfeld, BE SMART Lead for Bergen & Passaic Counties, former school nurse

Jackie Della Torre, Be Smart Presenter, Rutherford Resident

besmartforkids.org

Rutherford Police Chief John Russo will also be in attendance.
